NEW! MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer: Review & Swatches, New Colours

Finally a range of nude matte lips, when MUA announced this range i was excited to try them all out. there are four in total, Tranquility, Serene, Halcyon & A Flush. I have Tranquility and A Flush and i will be getting the others and update you :)

                                                   Tranquility

This a really nice shade, for everyday. i already have this colour in lipstick form and i do wear it alot, just as a nude lipstick when im feeling lazy or if im wearing alot of eye makeup and want a neutral lip, love this colour. the application was fine and applied somewhat evenly, and i found that this colour wasnt as waxy / sticky as MUA's other colours, which was nice.

A Flush

This colour was alot brighter than i anticipated, it is a coral / neon / baby pink. i still really love it though. this particular colour i did find a bit more problematic, i found it very sticky and very hard to apply an even coat. the trick with this one is to apply it fast with a very thin coat, as it drys too quickly and applying more makes it very bitty and uneven.

All in all i love these new colours and will be getting the other two, and will update this blog :)

Fantasy shoot: Paul Harrison, Beth Chambers & Becky Couzens

Fairy Tales and Fables

Me and My favorite Photographer organised this shoot a month or so back now, we knew we wanted to get together and do another themed shoot like before, but wasnt quite sure what the theme would be, and then i came up with the idea of having a fantasy / fairy tale themed shoot.

This unfortunately wasnt as long as the other themed shoots we normally do which can some times stretch towards 2 weeks, this was only 2 days but we managed to get some amazing stuff with the limited time and models.

Wood Nymph / Beth Chambers

The idea of this look was a tough warrior

Princess, not you typical fairy who just so happens to be in the woods, i wanted a real earthy type look, it would of been ideal if we had been able to shoot in the woods :)

The make-up i used was:
Lime Crime's Alchemy Palette & Serpentina Lipstick
Sugarpill's Junebug, Goldilux, Asteria & Bulletproof

 Unicorn Princess / Becky Couzens

This Look was so fun to create I literally used every colour i had to create this look, it was so fun because it is so incredibly girly and just plain ridiculous. i wanted Becky to look like she had just dropped out of a 6 yr old girls imagination right into real life. as you can see on one side she has a rainbow while on the other side stars. i finished this look off with tones of glitter and sparkles.

The make-up i used was:
Every colour in both sugarpill's Sweetheart Palette and Burning Heart Palette along with Lumi.

Lime Crime's Zodiac Glitter in Gemini
& Uniliner in Lunar Sea

Mua's Purple Eyeshadow

Collection 2000 Glitter Liners

Gosh Blue Metallic Liner

Mermaid / Beth Chambers

This was by far my favorite
i had so much fun editing these as you can probably see i made alot of different edits, some better than others, it was just so fun to play around with them all. I also love how clear the makeup is in all shots, which i look out for the most.

The makeup i used was:
Lime Crime's Aquataenia Palette
& Geradium Lipstick.

 Pheonix  / Becky Couzens

This is probably the darkest out of the four looks little bit more on the sexy side, rather than cute and innocent, i also loved editing these as i could add so many different effects.

The Make-up i used was:
Sugarpill's Burning Heart Palette
& Bulletproof

Lime Crime's Velvetine Wicked

Extra's with Beth Chambers :

Born in the USA & Clockwork Orange

Lime Crime's Velvetine's: Clueless Witch Collection: Wicked, Salem & Black Velvet Review & Swatches

When Lime Crime announced these i was so so excited because not only i love their velvetines, (and i think matte lips are the future of lip products and i wish i had every colour in matte form) but i love love these colours, sometimes when lime crime release a new product i get it 90% of the time mainly because i love their products and i feel i have to collect them all, but i have so many things i dont even use i just buy for the sake of buying but i was especially excited for these as i know i will wear all the colours all the time.

Swatches

From Left to right: Wicked, Black Velvet & Salem

Wicked

Wicked is a deep blood red alot darker then her sister Red Velvet, applies evenly drys matte touch proof and gorgeous for a vampy or pin up look.

Probably the one i will wear the most, out of the three, not meaning its my favorite, i actually cant decide between the three as i like them all so much for different reason's.

Black Velvet

Black Velvet is a Matte blackest of black's lip colour. applies evenly drys matte touch proof. it sorta has a blue-ish undertone to it, perfect for goth's too busy to re-apply their lippy

For me i can think of a million different use's for this especially photoshoots, and applying it on clients, i will say though out of all three i did find this the messiest to apply and a bit more problematic, once applied no problem at all.

Salem

Salem is a rich chocolaty brown, applies evenly drys matte touch proof. i was sorta hoping more like dark chocolate, but its more like milk chocolate, perfect for you messy chocolate eaters ;)

I do really love this colour, when this first got announced not every one was happy with a brown lipstick, but i honestly thought it was the best one!, after trying all three, i have concluded that salem dosnt look as good on me as well as the other two, i do still really like it, but i feel maybe my hair clashes with it a bit. but still love it for its originality, and i know i will wear the shit out of this coming Autumn time. perfect fall lipstick!

Conclusion

Love love love these velvetines, quality still remains the same compared to the other velvetines. well done lime crime, i couldnt have asked for a better range of colours ( still waiting on that purple velvetines though )

Get yours here ..
